Stay Positive and Innovative
No question, this Thanksgiving season continues to facilitate consternation on many fronts in the higher education sector. Multiple variables are shaping college and university leaders’ thinking about what is ahead for all the institutions facing numerous challenges and a few opportunities. And on the heels of the recent election and rumors often coming up about how the new administration is going to impact the role of the department of higher education and financial aid implementation, the lingering uncertainty is keeping higher education professionals worrying about what may be next.
No matter what, stay positive and keep a good perspective about the next steps and the season ahead. In many ways, this is the new “normal” that has been happening for years, and it is a catalyst for so many college and university leaders, board members, and alumni to stay positive and think about new opportunities to make the most of the situation. And as we have mentioned multiple times, all of this is a catalyst for the culture to become more edupreneurial, innovative, and responsive to the reality of today’s marketplace. Some will succeed and some will fall behind. Welcome to the reality of life.
